Please contact Melisa Gildner at mgildner@globalminnesota.org for questions. \nBack by popular demand! Join Global Minnesota at K’kinaco\, Minnesota’s only Nikkei restaurant and Pisco bar for Culture through Cuisine. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. Dinner is served as a pre-set menu\, so please let us know by June 24 if you have any dietary restrictions (including if you need a vegetarian menu or non-alcoholic cocktail option). While the venue is the same as before\, we’ll feature an all new menu of delicious Nikkei flavors. \nGlobal Minnesota members receive discounted admission. Members are welcome to bring a guest at the member rate. \nNot yet a member? SUMMARY:Great Decisions: Latin American Politics
DESCRIPTION:This free event is being held in-person and is open to everyone. Please note that Woman’s Club Great Decisions events have moved to the Westminster Presbyterian Church. \nAs countries across Latin America continue to gain global prominence\, how should the United States view the complex political developments and changing geopolitical landscape? \nHear a knowledgeable perspective on politics in Latin America from local expert Rob Scarlett. His analysis will focus on status of Latin America’s economies and highlight recent social/political developments in the context of the increased tariffs and related geopolitical realignments. \nThis program is presented by the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis through a partnership with Global Minnesota. \nThe Great Decisions program addresses some of the most critical foreign policy issues facing the United States each year. Global Minnesota facilitates the statewide Great Decisions program by providing access to a roster of local foreign policy experts and to discussion materials produced by the Foreign Policy Association.  \nRob Scarlett\, presenter \nRob Scarlett has had a 40-year career in international sales and manufacturing; and although still active in business\, has shifted more of his time into service as a director and/or advisor to several small and medium-size companies and philanthropic organizations. \nShortly after graduating from Carleton College in 1966\, he became part of a private NGO team that created some of Latin America’s first microfinance institutions. Building on that experience\, he began a decades-long business career that kept him active throughout Latin America\, Central America\, Mexico\, and the Caribbean. \nIf you would like to register\, please RSVP to reneebrowngoodell@gmail.com. \nInterested in joining or starting a Great Decisions discussion group? Listen to our past podcast episode to learn how!

SUMMARY:Edina Great Decisions: U.S.-China Relations
