DESCRIPTION:This free event is being held in-person and is open to everyone. No registration is required to attend. \nOn December 6\, Lloyd Ultan Hall at the University of Minnesota’s School of Music will host a special guitar recital by Alvaro Henrique\, a first-year Brazilian DMA student\, UMN Teaching Assistant\, and Global Minnesota Classroom Connection volunteer.  \nThis recital features works by composers born in Brasília\, the capital city and federal district of Brazil\, presenting a diverse range of compositions that reflect the city’s unique musical culture. The program aims to promote a local musical identity\, with Alvaro having personally commissioned several pieces to highlight the creativity and talent of his hometown. \nThis recital is more than a performance—it’s a project to foster and showcase the unique contributions of Brasília’s composers to the classical guitar repertoire.
