As a leader for Global Minnesota, David Fox brought a deep commitment to global understanding, a wide network, strong expertise, and vision which helped shape the organization well into the future.

David joined Global Minnesota’s board of directors in 2002, served as its chair from 2005-2007, and continues to serve as an honorary director. Under his leadership, Global Minnesota ensured the move from 711 East River Road to our new location at 1901 University Ave. He and his wife, Margene, hosted the Year of Japan gala in 2001, as well as this year’s memorable Celebration of Colombia gala. They were active and enthusiastic participants on Global Minnesota trips to the United Kingdom and Morocco.

David Fox has been president of Railway Equipment Company since 1980.  He and Margene are also active in the arts community in the Twin Cities.

Katherine has a strong commitment to global understanding and, as a champion for Global Minnesota, engaged a wide range of new community members with the organization. She led with a keen sense of long-term strategy during difficult times, helping craft Global Minnesota’s response to September 11, 2001.
Katherine joined the board in 1996 and served as chair from 2001 to 2003, during which time she spearheaded the Year of China and an extraordinary “2,000 members by the year 2000” campaign. She was actively involved in the programs after September 2001, resulting in a 50 percent increase in participation in programs on global issues. She continues to serve as an honorary director, and she and her husband, Larry, are familiar faces at Global Minnesota events.
Katherine is a retired account executive in organizational training and management. She is a Trustee Emeritus of Carleton College, actively involved in Beacon’s project for ending homelessness, and a former chair of Westminster Town Hall Forum.

The dedication, continued commitment, and generous contributions of David Fox and Katherine Youngblood are helping to ensure Global Minnesota’s ability to serve Minnesotans for the next 60 years.

The lunch honoring Katherine and David is complimentary. Funds given in honor of Katherine Youngblood and David Fox will be added to the Global Minnesota Distinguished Ambassador Fund, which makes it possible to bring high level dignitaries and speakers to Minnesota to engage with our community.
