China is an economic powerhouse which has recently supplanted the United States as the world’s largest exporter of goods. What are the key steps to promoting successful relationships between Minnesota-based companies and China?

Join Global Minnesota and The U.S. Heartland China Association for a virtual conversation with economist and professor at the London School of Economics Dr. Keyu Jin. She will discuss the complex economic relationships between the U.S. and China. Dr. Jin recently released her first book, The New China Playbook, in which she details the economic history and development of China, the decisions that led them to a booming economy, and lays out a roadmap for future relations between the West and China. An audience Q&A will take place after the presentation moderated by Amy Xu, a partner at Hamre, Schumann, Mueller & Larson P.C.

Dr. Keyu Jin, presenter

Dr. Keyu Jin is an associate professor (with tenure) of Economics at the London school of Economics. She is from Beijing, China, and holds a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.

Her research is on international economics— such as why capital flows from poor to rich countries, how the global implications of U.S. monetary and fiscal policies have changed; and on how the rise of China impacts the global economy, from several perspectives —trade, capital flows, global interest rates and saving, demographics, productivity and technology.

This event is presented in partnership with the U.S. Heartland China Association and the China-United States Exchange Foundation.
