The U.S.-China relationship drives international commerce and significantly impacts global security. Join us for the 2026 China Town Hall: Local Connections, National Reflections, organized by the National Committee on United States-China Relations and locally hosted by the University of Minnesota China Center and Global Minnesota.
The program will feature a live webcast with Sarah Beran, former Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and Stephen Biegun, former Deputy Secretary of State. The livestream will be followed by an on-site discussion with Kevin Luo, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota.

Professor Kevin Luo
Kevin Luo is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. His primary research agenda focuses on state capacity and the construction of state power in China and Asia, drawing insights from both historical and contemporary perspectives. His broader interests also include authoritarianism and democratization, development and security in East Asia, and contemporary politics in China and Taiwan.
