Beach Time at Shady Oak

Minnesota summer is all about lakes and making unforgettable memories—and this is your chance to enjoy it all with fellow international and globally-minded college students. Join Global Minnesota at Shady Oak Beach, one of the Twin Cities’ hidden gems and recently named one of the area’s best beaches by the Star Tribune. With 76 feet of soft sandy shoreline and the cool, clear waters of spring-fed Shady Oak Lake, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the season.

Registration includes beach pass (normally $7), light snacks, and refreshing nonalcoholic beverages while supplies last. To stay comfortable, please remember to bring your own beach towel, sunscreen, water bottle, and any extra snacks you might enjoy.

Spots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Global Minnesota staff and volunteers will offer a limited number of car rides. We will also set up a WhatsApp group to coordinate rides and help students stay connected.

• 2:30 – 3:00 pm: Snack Time
• 3:00 – 3:30 pm: Speed Friending
• 3:30 – 4:50 pm: Beach Games
• 4:55 – 5:00 pm: Group Picture
