This event is SOLD OUT.
From traditional lentil soup to house-marinated Adana kebabs to decadent baklava, the vibrant flavors of Turkish cuisine have found a new home in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis. Since opening its doors in 2017, Campus Cafe has utilized local growers and small businesses to create authentic Turkish dishes, delivering a worldly atmosphere without sacrificing a local connection.
Experience the tastes of Campus Cafe at our next Culture Through Cuisine and hear from owner and native of Turkey, Faruk Cingilli, about his mission to enhance friendships and build bridges through Turkish food.
About the Speaker
Born and raised in Turkey, Faruk Cingilli spent the first part of his career starting his own consulting company and traveled extensively to establish trade relationships between Turkey and the former Soviet Union. He also worked as the Counselor on Foreign Economic Relations to the Minister of Agriculture and became the first United Nations Development Program volunteer in Russia. After moving to the U.S. in 1996, Cingilli owned and managed several businesses before fulfilling a longtime dream of opening Campus Cafe. In 2013, Cingnilli formed the Turkish Somali American Friendship Association and currently serves as its president. In 2011, he was elected to serve as the Vice Chairman of the America Region Committee on the World Turkish Business Council under the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey.
