SDG Roundtable: Designing Smart & Healthy Buildings

September 25 @ 9:00 am CDT

/ $20 – $35

This event is being held in-person and virtually and is open to everyone.

We all want our buildings to minimize use of energy, water, and finite natural resources. Today, the demand for decarbonizing our buildings has become more urgent thanks to climate change, commensurate resource constraints, and federal/state/local legislation. Innovators in this field have capitalized on our connected world and artificial intelligence–leading to the emergence of smart buildings. How do we design a building that is both smart and healthy? As we evolve on our path toward a carbon neutral future, how do we ensure that the quality of life within our buildings continues to enhance and elevate the human experience — what can we learn from our international partners on how to future proof the built environment?

In Global Minnesota’s next sustainable development goals roundtable series we will examine how to Design Smart and Healthy Buildings. Ruairi Barnwell, Smart Buildings Leader and Principal at DLR Group, a global integrated design firm, will bring us up to date on the latest in smart and healthy building innovations, and share examples on global best practices in their design.

Following the keynote, we’ll have a panel of experts from the design, construction, and manufacturing fields to build on what we have learned and address the question “where do we go from here?” Confirmed panelists include experts from Andersen Windows and PCL Construction.

Registration includes coffee and continental breakfast. Special member pricing open to Global Minnesota individual members and employees of Global Minnesota Corporate Members.

Want to attend for FREE? New individual members at the $75+ level can receive one complimentary ticket to attend this event! Learn more about membership and get started here.
