Join Global Minnesota for a presentation by the Consul General of Lithuania in Chicago, Regimantas Jablonskas. He will outline Lithuania’s current economic priorities, its role in the European Union, and the growing trade ties between Minnesota and Lithuania.

About the Speaker: Consul General Regimantas Jablonskas
Regimantas Jablonskas has served as the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Chicago since September 2024, leading the mission’s efforts to strengthen U.S.-Lithuanian relations in the Midwest. Prior to his current appointment, he held senior diplomatic roles including Ambassador-at-Large in the Policy Planning Department at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2017-2024. His career also includes service as Consul General in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 2015-2017, Deputy Director of External Economic Relations from 2008-2015, and postings in Norway and Ukraine. With a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vilnius University, he brings deep expertise in foreign policy, economic relations, and multilateral engagement to his role.

Elizabeth K. Horst is a former career U.S. diplomat with more than 25 years of experience in Europe and South Asia. As Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, she served as the bureau’s chief operating officer—overseeing policy development, budgets, staffing, strategic communications and U.S. engagement with 13 countries and 20 posts. Her diplomatic career involved leadership roles in Tallinn, Estonia as Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission. Earlier assignments included Ukraine, Germany, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Niger.
