Amid evolving domestic and regional political dynamics, Moldova is a focus of growing importance for European stability.

Speaker: Consul General Anton Lungu
Anton Lungu is a career diplomat of the Republic of Moldova with 17 years of experience in the diplomatic service. He currently holds the diplomatic rank of Minister-Counselor. Between August 2023 and April 2025, he served as Minister-Counselor, Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America.
Previously, he was Head of the Directorate for Economic and Sectoral Cooperation with the EU (2021–2023), Counselor at the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union (2018–2021), and held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as at the Embassies of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine and the EU, beginning in 2008.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Francophone branch (2008), and two Master’s degrees: one in Business Administration from ASEM (2010), and another in International and Institutional Law from ULIM (2017). He was a merit scholarship recipient of the “Paul Braun” program in 2007–2008.
He is fluent in Romanian, English, French, and Russian, and has a basic knowledge of German. In 2018, he was awarded the Diploma of Merit, Second Class, by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
