Waterfall Hike & Outdoor Concert

August 23 @ 4:30 pm CDT

/ $2

This event is being held in-person and is open to international and globally-minded students. Registration is now closed.

Join Global Minnesota for a fun Minnesota summer party!

Did you know that the word Minnehaha means “curling water” in the Dakota language? The Dakota people considered the area that today makes the Minnehaha Regional Park an ideal place to gather. Let’s gather and enjoy the last days of summer spending quality outdoor time with fellow international and globally-minded students by the beautiful Minnehaha Falls.

Explore the park’s natural beauty, including its 53-foot waterfall, and experience a scenic hike along the Minnehaha creek.

Then enjoy a light picnic with chips, trail mix, and any additional snacks and beverages you would like to bring. We’ll conclude with a live music concert at the bandstand near the waterfall, featuring acoustic guitar and Americana music.

Agenda:

• 4:30-5:00 pm: Arrival, Check-in, and Waterfall Pictures
• 5:00-6:00 pm: Hike
• 6:00-7:00 pm: Picnic Time
• 7:00 pm: Scott Liber Outdoor Concert (acoustic guitar, Americana music)

If you have questions or if you are ISSS staff who would like to join, please contact Jo Mattos at [email protected]. Due to the outdoor nature of this event, we cannot guarantee full accessibility accommodations.
