Culture Through Cuisine: Kurdistan

Enjoy a sampling of traditional Kurdish fare and hear about the deep culture and history of one of the largest ethnic groups in West Asia, the Kurds, at the next Culture Through Cuisine at Babani’s in St. Paul.

The first Kurdish restaurant to open in the U.S., family-owned Babani’s serves up dishes representing the cuisine of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Owner and chef, Rodwan Nakshabandi, will speak about the blend of culture and cuisine of his native Kurdistan. Join us for a delicious evening that will include a diverse menu:

  • Naska nan na paneer (Kurdish bread and cheese platter)
  • Niskena (lentil soup)
  • Dowjic (chicken yogurt soup)
  • Kubay sawar / kubay brinj (beef dumpling)
  • Chicken tawa
  • Vegetarian biryani
  • Baklava
  • Kurdish Tea

Cost Includes: dinner, nonalcoholic beverages, tax, and gratuity.
