With tensions rising along the India-Pakistan border earlier in the week, Global Minnesota’s Great Decisions Conference on India’s Rising Influence offered critical context on an important region of the world.

An introductory presentation by local Great Decisions speaker Edmund Downie provided a primer on India’s unique role in global politics, setting the stage for Dr. Satu Limaye’s comprehensive keynote presentation. Women’s workforce participation then took center stage during a conversation with Anjuli Cameron from SEWA-AIFW and Humphrey International Fellow and Impact91 founder Aashraya Seth. The morning concluded with a lively presentation on India’s foreign policy, the Quad alliance, and nuclear nonproliferation by local Great Decisions expert and RAND analyst Raymond Kuo.

Thanks to an audience of over 100 globally-minded Minnesotans, discussion group participants, and Global Minnesota members for engaging in thoughtful conversation on the world’s largest democracy. A sincere thank you to the Foreign Policy Association for their support in facilitating the return of our Great Decisions Conference.
