The pandemic revealed deep and persistent inequalities throughout the global healthcare system. As we enter a new era in public health, we must now seize the opportunity to reshape a global healthcare system that is more equitable and accessible to all. On April 7, Global Minnesota hosted a multi-session virtual symposium dedicated to “Accelerating Health Equity by Design.” In partnership with the World Health Organization, we welcomed renowned experts and entrepreneurs in global public health from a broad range of organizations such as the National Council on Disability, 3M, the Icahn Medical School at Mount Sinai, Medtronic LABS, and UnitedHealth Group.
Our speakers and panel presentations covered a wide range of successful strategies from every corner of the planet, and explored emerging opportunities and challenges in health equity. From disability policy to AI data analysis to virtual reality telemedicine, there is something for everyone to learn as we work to make quality healthcare equitable to all! A special panel of Next Generation leaders also explored emerging strategies and tactics in the health equity movement.
ASL interpretation provided. The program is archived with subtitles available on Global Minnesota’s YouTube channel.
