Global Minnesota 75th Anniversary
Celebrating 75 Years of Dialogue, Diplomacy, and Discovery
In 1951, a small group of citizen diplomats came together to welcome and support international students in Minnesota. Through this work, our founders recognized that for Minnesota to thrive, culturally and economically, there needed to be a sustained commitment to global engagement. Over time, a full array of programs and activities grew from this vision.
For 75 years, thousands of Minnesotans have answered the call to advance international understanding and engagement. They have embraced the spirit of citizen diplomacy by hosting international visitors and students, exploring global issues through events and discussion groups, sharing cultures, supporting programs that bring the world into classrooms, and more. Today, every Minnesotan has the opportunity to play a role in citizen diplomacy.
